Conclusion

The FM84XW is a very capable fan. With performance like what you see in a 120mm fan it's useful when you can fit it into an place that holds an 80mm fan. The cooling abilities are very good, but it does come at the cost of a higher noise. Many people will find that unless you're running an Intel Prescott core CPU or over clocking, you won't have to have the fan up all the way -- But it's nice knowing that if you need to you can with a simple twist of the controller.

Pros

  • Very high air movement (Over 72 CFM)
  • Compact
  • High static pressure rating
  • Controller is high quality and looks nice
  • Very quiet at low speed
  • Long cord for controller

Cons

  • Loud at high speed
