Installing the Basics (Page 3)
Mounting the DVD-Rom was very easy to do while the tray is removed.
Make sure to set all your wires neatly at this point and connect any last cables to hardware that you need. Once you put the DVD-ROM tray back you won't be able to work below it.
I ran the power and IDE cable for the CD-ROM up through the opening in the tray towards the back of the case. I also put the Firewire PCI bracket (that came with my motherboard) that connects from the motherboard to the front panel extender in the DVD-ROM tray for safe storage..
The LC-04 has the option of mounting a fan next to the hard drive. Since my testing will include an Intel Prescott 3.0GHz CPU, I installed a case fan to help push the extra hot air that this CPU core produces. The fan I used is the SilverStone FM84XW which has an adjustable control for moving up to 72 cubic feet of air per minute so I can find out how much air movement is needed in this case for the top end CPU's, if for some extreme reason you want to do this. For more information on this fan, see my review of the SilverStone FM84XW fan.
